When you’re in a stressed out state, it’s often extremely difficult to switch your thinking and find ways to de-stress. And I know how it feels…

You don’t know what to do

You don’t know where to even begin

And the more stressed you are, the harder it is to think clearly……

It’s like a vicious cycle that becomes increasingly harder to get off. The longer you keep yourself trapped here, the more at risk you are to things like stomach cramps and heart pains. It could start out with something as simple as you feeling grumpy, maybe you start to forget important things. Then at the other end of the scale, it could lead to hypertension which is most definitely a place you don’t want to end up.

Hypertension in it’s turn could lead to cardiovascular disease or you could get a depression, or even burnout.

Stress in itself can feel like a snowball. It starts off small, but the longer you leave it, the more momentum it gathers, the larger the snowball grows, until it reaches a point that you simply can’t manage or control.

You don’t want to find yourself in this situation.

You want to have a great life encompassed with all the benefits of low stress where you feel at ease, everything flows and things work out the way you want them to. And by being in this state of flow and ease, you’ll become a nicer person to be around.

It’s contagious. People find it easier surrounding themselves with people who are happy.

If you’re in a similar situation right now, where life simply feels like hard work and you’ve tried many different ways to change that but still find yourself in the same place, I’d recommend you begin looking a little deeper.

Most people only scratch the surface when it comes to de-stressing their life.

From working with hundreds of clients over all my years being a doctor, the biggest and most important thing I’ve learned is that you’ve got to have a system or proven process in place that you can follow.

Something that has stood the test of time and worked time and time again in giving you great stress relieving results.

Sure you could keep trying all these little ‘quick fixes’ to get rid of the stress in your life, but you know deep down nothing will change.

And that’s the very reason I created my Brain, Body & Base System.

To help stressed business leaders understand the three deeper levels of stress reduction in a structured way.

Brain: This is your mindset. You have to get your mind in a place where change becomes possible. This is the most important part of the whole system — without being in the right headspace, nothing will change.

Body: Once your mindset is focussed for change, it’s time to look at getting the energy to make these changes happen. We look at getting your general health, sleep and physical activity in order.

Base: Once you have your brain and body in check, you can work on the life around you. I call this your base. This ranges from the network of people around you, your family and free time. It’s not a universal ‘one size fits all’ approach. Everyone is different and requires a unique approach. For you it might mean working more on how much free time you give yourself. It could even be spending more time with your loved ones.

It’s a fairly straight forward system to follow. In fact, if you found this useful and you want to learn more about how you can implement this system into your life, I made a Mini Video Course about how you can start.

Here’s the link to the course.

I’d love to know what you think of it. Let me know what you find challenging when it comes to reducing your own stress. If you’ve got friends or family you know who would benefit from this article, feel free to share this short blog post with them

To your success and keep smiling!
